Biography
The Rebirth Brass Band originated as a brass band hailing from New Orleans. It was established in 1982 by Philip Frazier, a talented tuba/sousaphone player, alongside his brother Keith Frazier, who played the bass drum, and the skilled trumpeter Kermit Ruffins. They joined forces with other members from the marching band at Joseph S. Clark Senior High School in the Tremé neighborhood of New Orleans. The band's big break came when they were discovered at the 1982 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, leading to the recording of their debut studio album in 1984.
