Formed in 1969 in Detroit, Michigan, 100 Proof (Aged in Soul) was an American funk/soul group. Assembled by the renowned Motown songwriting trio, Holland-Dozier-Holland, they inked a deal with Hot Wax Records and enjoyed success with multiple chart-topping singles from 1969 to 1972. Their most notable hit, "Somebody's Been Sleeping," climbed to the impressive position of #8 on the Billboard Hot 100. Exceeding one million copies, this release earned the group a well-deserved gold disc, bestowed by the R.I.A.A.
