When the door blew open and a famous business man appeared in the door

I was squeezed in the back of a yellow cab
Between ruin and fate
Both armed to the teeth and more beneath
And at the end of a dusty road
They made me sign my name
With a butcher's knife into the tree of life
In the final reckoning
Will there be many phones that ring?
How will we watch it?
How will we go?
Will it be fire or snow?
I've been sitting here on the rotten stump
Of Washington's cherry tree
Another portal for the lost immortals

Like a kid at a keyhole of all the things that tomorrow brings
