In a breath I was back to a farm that once sat
Across a dream that exists now only a memory
And I can still feel the wind like the help from a friend
Assuring me that's where exactly I'm supposed to be
And with all things put aside life continues to be a fight
To hold close the things we can lose so easily
Out of all this we now know that we must learn to let go
And continue to accept what's truly meant to be
Because one thing I've learned from this time in my life

Is that memories are only fence posts
Passing by on the side of the road
Down the ruts of old dirt roads
We see the same paths others chose
To lead their lives
To a familiar place to be
But the belief that there's just one way
To get to where you'll stay
Is thought I won't accept
And never took seriously
And if we cut through this field we find the results soon will yield
A new adventure and things none had ever seen
As far as I may go I'll remember my way home
And never ever forget my family
