Biography

Levi Stubbles, born on June 6, 1936, and passed away on October 17, 2008, was an American singer known by his stage name Levi Stubbs. He was famous for his deep baritone voice and was the lead vocalist of the popular Motown R&B group, Four Tops. In addition to his music career, Stubbs also pursued voice acting, particularly playing antagonistic characters in movies and animated TV shows. One of his most notable roles was providing the voice for Audrey II, the alien plant in the musical horror film Little Shop of Horrors. He also voiced Mother Brain in Captain N: The Game Master. Stubbs was highly respected by his peers for his exceptional vocal range. Marvin Gaye, another well-known Motown artist, even admitted that he perceived a strength in Stubbs' voice that his own voice lacked.
