Boy George, whose real name is George Alan O'Dowd, is an English singer-songwriter. He rose to fame in the early 1980s as part of the English New Romanticism movement. His music is often described as blue-eyed soul, drawing influence from rhythm and blues and reggae. In his solo music from the 1990s and 2000s, he incorporates glam influences from artists like David Bowie and Iggy Pop. Boy George was the lead singer of the popular pop band Culture Club during the 1980s, winning Grammy and Brit Awards. He also formed and led the band Jesus Loves You from 1989 to 1992. Apart from his music career, Boy George is involved in various activities such as songwriting, DJing, writing books, designing clothes, and photography. However, he has released fewer music recordings in recent years.
