Born on March 30, 1945, Eric Patrick Clapton is an esteemed English musician known for his skills as a guitarist and singer-songwriter. He holds the distinction of being the only individual to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times: once as a solo artist, and separately as a member of The Yardbirds and Cream. Clapton is widely recognized as one of the most significant and influential guitarists in history. In fact, Rolling Stone magazine ranked him second in their prestigious "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" list, while he claimed the fourth spot in Gibson's Top 50 Guitarists of All Time.
