Biography

Edith Márquez Landa, born on January 27, 1973 in Mexico City, is a Mexican singer and actress known for her powerful mezzo-soprano voice. She began her professional career by winning the television musical contests "Juguemos a cantar" in 1978 and "Canta, Canta" in 1984. She later attended courses at the Artistic Educational Training Centre of Televisa and was a member of the popular musical band Timbiriche. Edith has also appeared in several soap operas and represented Mexico in the 2001 Viña del Mar International Song Festival. In recognition of her television and recording artist contributions, she became the first member of Timbiriche to have her handprints embedded on the Paseo de las Luminarias in Mexico City in 2003.
