Tenor Fly, originally named Jonathan Sutter, was a celebrated British singer and rapper who gained fame during the ragga movement in the early 1990s. He began his music career in 1988 and was highly regarded for his collaborations with other notable artists such as Rebel MC, Top Cat, Barrington Levy, and Sir Coxson Sound. Later on, he became a member of the band Freestylers. Tragically, Fly passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2016. His passing was mourned by the music community, with London label Nice Up! Records describing him as a true legend in the UK soundsystem scene, whose talent left an indelible mark across the globe. Known for his versatile style, which spanned genres from dancehall, reggae, and hip hop to jungle, Tenor Fly was hailed as an original roughneck rudeboy. Despite his immense talent and success, those who knew him also admired him for his genuine kindness and humility. His legacy as a consummate artist, performer, and all-around great person will forever endure. The title of 'legend' truly fit him, a distinction not given without great merit.
