Carminho, whose birth name is Maria do Carmo Carvalho Rebelo de Andrade, was born on 20 August 1984 in Lisbon. She is a renowned Portuguese singer of fado and popular music. Coming from a family of musicians, her mother, Teresa Siqueira, was a well-known fado singer. Carminho is widely regarded as one of the most talented and innovative fado singers of her generation. Her music can be described as a blend of traditional and contemporary fado, making her a crossover artist. In addition to fado, she also explores other genres like Brazilian popular music. Carminho gained popularity in Spain after collaborating with Pablo Alborán on the hit single "Perdóname," which reached number one on the Spanish charts. Her albums Fado and Alma reached Platinum and Gold status in Portugal, selling more than 50,000 copies combined.
