Biography
Formed in Dublin, Ireland in 2001, The Thrills is an Irish rock band. Conor Deasy, the lead vocalist, and guitarist Daniel Ryan founded the band, along with Padraic McMahon on guitar and bass, Kevin Horan on piano, and Ben Carrigan on drums. The band achieved success with their debut album, So Much for the City, which topped the charts in Ireland and reached number 3 in the UK. Their music has been described as drawing inspiration from the classic American pop of the late '60s and early '70s, characterized by MTV.com as well as Pitchfork Media, who referred to it as an ode to the dreamy ambiance, constant sunshine, and shifting ground of the California coast.
