Biography

Robbie Robertson, OC, also known as Jaime Robert Klegerman, is a Canadian musician and songwriter. He gained fame as a guitarist and primary songwriter for the iconic band, The Band. Robertson's talent on the guitar has been recognized as he was listed as the 59th greatest guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. The Band itself has been honored with inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. As a skilled songwriter, Robertson has written many beloved classics including "The Weight," "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," "Up On Cripple Creek," "Broken Arrow," and "Somewhere Down the Crazy River." Furthermore, he has also been recognized for his contributions to Canadian music and was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
