Biography
Saba, pronounced Sah-bah, is a small Caribbean island that is the smallest special municipality of the Netherlands. The island is mostly made up of the potentially active volcano, Mount Scenery, which is also the highest point in the entire Netherlands at 887 meters (2,910 feet). Saba has a land area of 13 square kilometers (5.0 square miles). As of January 2013, the population was 1,991 inhabitants, with a population density of 150 inhabitants per square kilometer (390/sq mi). The main towns and settlements on the island are The Bottom (the capital), Windwardside, Hell's Gate, and St. Johns.
