Biography

Jodie Mack, an American experimental filmmaker and animator, was born in 1983 in London, England. She obtained her MFA in film, video, and new media from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago after attending the University of Florida. Currently, Mack teaches at Dartmouth College while also being a 2017–2018 Radcliffe-Harvard Film Study Center Fellow/David and Roberta Logie Fellow. Her films have been showcased at prestigious events such as the Viennale, the New York Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Locarno Festival. Mack's preferred tool is a 16mm Bolex camera, which allows her to capture colors and textures that resonate with her artistic vision. Notably, her films often incorporate stop motion animation using everyday fabrics, textiles, as well as recycled materials like magazine clippings and newspaper scraps.
