Biography

Born on April 15, 1978, Christopher Alvin Stapleton is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. He was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, before moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 2001 to pursue a music career. Stapleton signed a contract with Sea Gayle Music to write and publish his own music. To date, he has written or co-written over 170 songs, including six number-one country hits for artists such as Kenny Chesney, George Strait, and Luke Bryan. His compositions have also been recorded by artists like Adele, Brad Paisley, and Dierks Bentley, and he has collaborated with notable musicians like Vince Gill, Peter Frampton, and Sheryl Crow. Stapleton has received numerous accolades, including five Grammy Awards, seven Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, and ten Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. Before embarking on a solo career, Stapleton sang lead vocals in a bluegrass band called The SteelDrivers from 2008 to 2010. In 2015, he released his highly acclaimed debut album, "Traveller," which topped the US Billboard 200 chart and achieved triple platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His second studio album, "From A Room: Volume 1," was released in 2017 and earned him another CMA Award for Album of the Year, as well as a Grammy Award for Best Country Album. He followed it up with "From A Room: Volume 2" in December 2017.
