Stormzy, born Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr. on 26 July 1993, is a popular English rapper. He has achieved recognition for his talent, winning Best Grime Act at the 2014 and 2015 MOBO Awards. Stormzy was also listed as an artist to watch in the influential Sound of 2015 list by the BBC. One of his most successful songs to date is the platinum-selling "Shut Up", initially released as a freestyle on YouTube. After a campaign launched by Stormzy to reach Christmas number one, the track officially debuted at number eight on the UK Singles Chart. Stormzy's debut album, titled Gang Signs & Prayer, was released on 24 February 2017. It made history by becoming the first grime album to reach number one on the UK Albums Chart.
