Formed in 2001, the Scissor Sisters are an American pop group. The band drew inspiration from the gritty, vibrant gay nightlife in New York City. Their name is derived from the lesbian sexual act, tribadism. The members include Jake Shears and Ana Matronic as vocalists, Babydaddy as a multi-instrumentalist, Del Marquis as the lead guitarist and bassist, and Randy Real as the drummer, who replaced Paddy Boom. The Scissor Sisters' musical style is a fusion of various genres, with a penchant for pop rock, glam rock, nu-disco, and electroclash.
