Biography

The Derek Trucks Band is a jam band from the United States that was formed by the incredibly talented slide guitar player, Derek Trucks. Trucks, a prodigy in his field, started his career at the tender age of nine, playing guitar and performing alongside some of the most renowned blues and rock musicians. As he grew older, Trucks began to explore his musical abilities by collaborating with various artists he met during tours and recording sessions. It was in 1994 that he decided to establish his own band, giving birth to The Derek Trucks Band. Given his familial connections to The Allman Brothers Band, Trucks continued to push boundaries and collaborate with others, painstakingly assembling his group over several years. The band, consisting of six members, is primarily based in Trucks' family home in Jacksonville, Florida, and he serves as the unquestioned leader.
