Harshdeep Kaur, an Indian playback singer renowned for her Sufi songs, has made a name for herself in the Bollywood industry. Born into a Sikh family in Delhi, Kaur inherited her passion for music from her father, who is the owner of a musical instrument factory. She began her musical journey at a young age, studying Indian classical music under the guidance of the Singh Brothers and Western classical music under George Pullinkala. At the age of twelve, she joined the Delhi School of Music to learn piano, allowing her to further explore her musical talents. Kaur gained recognition after winning two talent reality shows, which catapulted her into becoming a sought-after lead singer for Bollywood soundtracks. Known for her expertise in the Sufi genre, she has lent her soulful voice to several popular songs, including "Katiya Karun" from Rockstar, "Heer" from Jab Tak Hai Jaan, "Bari Barsi" from Band Baaja Baaraat, "Kabira" from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, and "Ik Onkar" from Rang De Basanti, among others. Apart from her Bollywood contributions, Kaur has also been featured in Coke Studio (India) on MTV across three seasons, collaborating with renowned artists such as Papon, Leslie Lewis, Amit Trivedi, and Hitesh Sonik. Her talent has taken her beyond India, as she headlined the Southbank Centre Music Festival in London in April 2013, the Mosaic Festival in Mississauga, Canada in August 2013, and the London Mela in Gunnersbury Park in September 2013. In her personal life, Kaur tied the knot with her friend Mankeet Singh on 20 March 2015.
