Biography

Per Allan Magnus Claësson Uggla, born on June 18, 1954, is a multi-talented Swedish individual renowned for his satirical lyrics. Uggla, an artist, composer, actor, and occasional radio host, hails from Stockholm. Prior to embarking on a solo career in the early 1970s, he served as the lead singer for the hard rock band JUSO, which later changed its name to Alexander Lucas. Influenced by the likes of Black Sabbath, The Groundhogs, and Alice Cooper, Uggla's first two albums, Om Bobbo Viking and Livets teater, with their glam and art rock inspirations, failed to gain significant commercial success, selling only around 500 copies in Sweden. However, Uggla's shift away from glam rock towards punk and hard rock with the album Va ska man ta livet av sig för när man ändå inte får höra snacket efteråt earned him widespread popularity, with approximately 150,000 copies sold. Uggla's solo work has been influenced by artists such as Karl Gerhard, David Bowie, The Clash, Marc Bolan, Wendy Carlos, and Mott the Hoople. In an interview with Aftonbladet, he expressed his admiration for The Clash, considering them to be the greatest band in the world.
