Why do I find butterflies
Upon my window sill?
Do they have a happy life?
Or maybe it's just like mine
I wish I could be a butterfly
Doing whatever I please
I would see the people passing by
But that would not have to be me
Oh up in the sky with a breeze
I don't have to be me
Flying around with no plans
Being whoever I am
If I was a butterfly (If I was a butterfly)
I'd live for a couple of weeks (I'd have no secrets to tell)
I'd spend my time flying high
Dancing with the flowers and bees
I'd fly as high as I can
To try and feel something
The world around me crying
But I'll be gone in just a few a weeks
I wish I could be a butterfly
Doing whatever I please
